Mexico’s pavilion is popular among visitors because it is an ideal shelter from intense heat (more than 35°C with a humidity index of up to 92 percent).
From July 1 to 15, the Mexican pavilion will host a wonderful collection of handicrafts from Estado de México.

Enrique Peña Nieto, governor of Estado de México, inaugurated the state’s participation in the Mexican pavilion at Expo 2010 Shanghai on July 9. This participation takes place from July 1 to 15 and will have daily performances of the Ballet Folclórico del Estado de México and Grupo Renacimiento, that have performed at events like the Beijing Olympics 2008. There will also be an exhibition of the book collection of the Bicentennial Library.

According to June’s visitor satisfaction poll, 88 percent of the Mexican pavilion’s visitors have liked it, 66 percent have improved their opinion of Mexico after their visit and 40 percent think it is excellent, while 36 percent think it is very good. Culture and history are the main reasons why visitors approach the Mexican pavilion and their favorite pieces are the Mayan Board (25 percent), the masks (19 percent) and the Altarpiece of the Virgen de Dolores (16 percent).

El Rincón de la Marimba will perform in the America’s Square on July 31 and August 1.
On August 2 and 3, “Mexico Infrastructure Conference 2010” will be carried out in Shanghai, China, organized by ProMéxico, Mexican governmental institution in charge of promoting and attracting foreign investment. These business meetings will be attended by the ministers of State and heads of federal agencies who are responsible for infrastructure development in Mexico, who will present the portfolio of projects that the Mexican Government wants to launch in 2010 and 2011.
