Better Arts for a Better City….Better Life
The program will share our vision of the contemporary world, it will expose our traditions, as well as the results of a crossbreeding between modernity and tradition.
- Dialogue between tradition and modernity: It will showcase how Mexican artistic expressions are going through an inflexion process. The historical, political and social context of arts searches for new ways to create and produce.
- Universal language: It will present art's inherent search; it covers a representation of the human essence that universalizes all themes and transcends all regions to touch other cultures' most sensitive cords.
- National Identity:It showcases Mexican artists who have been able to include in their expressions a perspective that is specific to our culture, and that can identify itself with our traditions and roots.
- Traditional music and dance: Mexican folkloric dance and music are still an important point of reference of our culture that represent the most prolific artistic expressions in popular culture, enriching it and making it spectacular. Therefore, they constitute a language that must be showcased.
- Contemporary dance: Dance expressions in Mexico are constantly searching for a universal language. Through this search, they have established a dialogue using tools that belong to other disciplines and that enrich their techniques and lead to compositions with deeper content and form. These compositions will be showcased to offer an authentic view of new dance expressions in Mexico.
- Street theater: Mexico has a rich street theater tradition that wants to reach a higher level of professionalism and build a more theater-oriented street esthetic that formalizes its rules and determines and showcases a more spectacular view.
- Contemporary, popular, electronic and classical music: Since music in Mexico collided with visual resources, it has found many ways to spread its notes. Mexican musicians have found that graphic arts provide them many ways to leverage the sense of their compositions and transcend the rules of their discipline to reveal a different way of making music that must be listened to and promoted.
